Cloud Computing: A Journey towards its Security Issues
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cloud computing can be defined as a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of
computing resources(eg: networks, servers, storage, applications and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal
management effort or service provider interaction. Security remains the top concern for cloud adoption.
In a cloud computing environment, the entire data resides over a set of networked resources, enabling the data to be accessed through
virtual machines. Since these data-centers may be located in any part of the world beyond the reach and control of users, there are
multifarious security and privacy challenges that need to be understood and addressed. Some of the security risks in cloud computing
includes data integrity, data intrusion, service availability, Multi-tenancy etc. These issues need to be addressed with respect to security and
privacy in cloud computing environment. This paper aims to highlight the security concerns and analyze the numerous unresolved issues
threatening the cloud computing adoption.
