Control the Topology and Increase the Tolerance of Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

Nima Jafari Navimipour

Abstract

Heterogeneous wireless sensor networks consist of sensor nodes with different capabilities including different computing power, amount of energy, and sensing range. In this paper the issue of fault tolerance in heterogeneous wireless sensor networks is stated and two methods of resolving this are provided. Considering the fact that the sensor nodes are operating in an independent manner, the method of k-path topology control is proposed and the minimization of the necessary energy needed to transfer data from one point to another is addressed.
