Abstract

Spectrum sensing is that the basic and necessary mechanisms of the Cognitive Radio to seek out the unused spectrum. This paper presents an outline of CR design, discusses the characteristics and advantages of a CR .Energy detection does not requires signal properties, channel data, a sort of modulation of the transmitted signals so it is used extensively.A survey of different spectrum sensing and energy detection techniques is presented .
