Abstract

Block cipher is a type of key cipher which operates on a fixed length group of bits known as block ciphers. It is most widely used cryptographic algorithm. It is not necessary that the input should be only 128 bits. Size may vary. A message longer than 128 bits is encrypted by breaking the message into blocks and encrypted them individually. Block ciphers are important elementary components in the design of many cryptographic protocols, and are widely used to implement encryption of bulk data.
